Privacy policy
How Bowline Strings handles personal data for students and website visitors in Kuwait.
This policy describes how Bowline Strings (“we”, “us”), operating from Block 6, Street 12, Sharq, Kuwait City, Kuwait, collects and uses personal information. We aim to follow the expectations of Kuwait’s Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) and the Data Privacy Protection Regulation framework applicable to processing personal data in the State of Kuwait.
Who we are
Bowline Strings is a local adult music studio offering private violin, viola, and cello lessons. Contact for privacy questions: [email protected] or +965 2245 7813.
Data we collect
- Identity and contact details you send via forms, email, or phone (name, email, phone, instrument preference, message content).
- Scheduling notes needed to book and deliver lessons (preferred times, attendance, package use).
- Technical data from this website such as cookie preferences stored on your device, and basic server logs if our hosting provider records them.
We do not knowingly collect children’s data as a children’s service. Our studio focuses on adult learners.
Why we process data
We process personal data to respond to enquiries, schedule lessons, manage payments and packages, improve studio operations, and keep the website secure. Where optional analytics cookies are enabled by your choice, we use them only to understand aggregate site use.
Legal bases and sharing
Processing is based on your request for services, our legitimate interest in running a small studio safely, and consent where you opt into optional cookies. We do not sell personal data. We may share limited information with service providers who host email or the website, only as needed to operate, and with authorities when Kuwaiti law requires disclosure.
Retention and security
Enquiry messages are kept as long as needed to complete booking or correspondence, then deleted or archived in a limited form for accounting where required. Lesson records are retained while you are an active student and for a reasonable period afterward for scheduling history. We use access controls and reputable hosting practices appropriate to a small business; no method of transmission is perfectly secure.
Your rights
Subject to Kuwaiti law and CITRA-related data protection rules, you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, correction of inaccuracies, deletion where appropriate, and withdrawal of consent for optional processing. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. You may also raise concerns with the competent Kuwaiti authority if you believe processing does not meet applicable requirements.
International transfers
If a hosting or email provider stores data outside Kuwait, we expect contractual and technical safeguards consistent with applicable privacy rules. Ask us for current provider details if you need them.
Updates
We may update this page when our practices or Kuwaiti requirements change. The version published on this site is the current one. Last updated: July 2026.
